  Provide Basic Emergency Life Support enquire

Course Summary
This course is designed for those who require training that conforms to the recommendations of the Australian Resuscitation Council and provides the knowledge and skills to perform Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and basic life support skills. Delivery Options
The expected duration to complete this course is 16 hours training and assessment. Students are to complete the theory via self-paced learning using either our on-line courses or we can send out a workbook and manual. Upon completion of the theory students are required to attend 6 hours of face to face practical learning and assessment. A refresher course is available for students who hold a current Apply First Aid certificate. We can also still deliver the traditional two day face to face course.

Course Overview
Aged Care is an important and growing industry offering a range of rewarding career possibilities. You will learn about the aged care sector, how to communicate effectively and meaningfully with older people, the range of care and supports available to older people and how to provide a professional standard of care and support to older people. A career in the aged care sector may lead you to work in residential aged care facilities, in community services organisations, or within the health industry. People with this qualification work in a range of positions such as Assistant in Nursing, Community Support Worker, Accommodation Support Worker, Carer, In Home Respite Worker, Personal Care Worker, Home Care Assistant, Nursing Assistant, Community Care Worker, Field Officer, or Community House Worker.

Entry Requirements
To enrol in this course you must be able to demonstrate approximately Year 10 levels of mathematics, reading and writing skills, or alternatively be enrolled in a relevant skills development course. Relevant employment experience would be an advantage. To discuss your personal circumstances with one of our training professionals, please send us an enquiry.

Course Structure
13 units must be selected for this qualification including 9 compulsory units and 4 elective units.

Course Duration (Depending on Competency)
Part Time: Classes are held 4 days per week (20 hours) over 3 months. SUccessful completion of this course requires attendance at scheduled classes, plus a minimum of 150 hours work placement.

Learning Options
You can study this course by distance, through flexible workplace training, or face-to-face in a classroom.

If you choose to complete this course through your workplace your trainer will work with you to design a program that is tailored to your job role.

You will be assessed according to your competencies and you will have a range of options for demonstrating your skills and knowledge. Your trainer will help you to plan your assessment to ensure the most suitable methods for your circumstances are used. The National College Australia assessment process looks at your whole role and assesses your competencies within these roles rather than on a unit by unit basis, thereby offering you the ability to demonstrate your skills doing what you do best, in an environment familiar to you.

Course Overview
Aged Care is an important and growing industry offering a range of rewarding career possibilities. You will learn about the aged care sector, how to communicate effectively and meaningfully with older people, the range of care and supports available to older people and how to provide a professional standard of care and support to older people. You may choose to specialise in one of many aged care related services such as small group training, community education, nutrition, program development, or assessment, management, and provision of services to older people with complex needs such as dementia.
